Is Anyone Interested in a Seven Day African Hunting Safari for two? Cannot use trip and must sell...

I have fantastic deal for anyone interested in an African hunting safari for 2011 or 2012. I purchased a safari package for two at an auction but now can’t use it because of some unexpected financial obligations. The safari value is $6,500.00, but I’ll be happy if I can get $2,000.00 for it (or best offer). This hunting package is for a seven-day big game hunt for two people in southern Africa, the Limpopo region, near Johannesburg. The airfare to Africa is not included, but the package does include a 7-day guided hunt, accommodations, gourmet meals (including soft drinks, beer, and wine in moderation), transfer from Tambo International Airport, services of a professional hunter, and skinning and field preparation of trophies. Each hunter may take one plains game animal (impala, blesbuck, or warthog) but can pay the fees for additional animals if desired. There is also an option to upgrade the safari to a big five hunt. Seven-day safari for just $2,000?

Gosh, all the seven-day safaris I see advertized are a heck of a lot more than $2000. This is for two hunters, two animals, and upgrades are available. I do have some hunters interested, but nothing is firm yet, so the deal is still open. Personally, I think $2000 is a great deal even if all you get is a three-legged squirrel and a sunburn.

I am 1/2 tempted to buy this hunt, take my son and each of us shoot one Blesbok and then pass on animal after animal the rest of the time just to piss off the people at Authentic Africa Adventures.

This Authentic African Adventures is trying to pull a major "Bait & Switch" by gouging on the trophy fees to recoupe the deal they made Julie on the package of daily fees...

Julie is right...$2,000 for 2x1 for 7 days is a great deal....IF the trophy fees being charged by Authentic African Ripoffs...er Adventures weren't 3x the normal for South Africa.

Apparently those Wildebeast are fashioned from real gold? Luckily with gold prices dropping some they may be down to 120K soon...

I think it would be best to use a "Solid" bullet rather than an expanding one on a Wildebeast made from gold???

I hate to tell you this but when you do the math this is not a bad deal. Seven days hunting plus 5 normal species you might find on a regular PG hunt a kudu, wildebeest, gemsbok, hartebeest and impala about $9,000 to include everything except the VAT as near as I can tell. If Authentic African Adventures lives up to how they present themselves on the website this might be a super deal. And no I have no connection to AAA nor did I even know of their existence until today.

I agree that some of the trophy fees are incredible but if you need a golden wildebeest who you gonna call? I've actually seen them and I don't get it but they wouldn't be charging $150,000 if there were not people that would pay it.

First of all I would like to say that each one is free to fix the price they want, of course, but 7 days (if is a seven full hunting days) with the animals you say for 9.250$, Do you really think that is a good deal?

I just ran the numbers for the exact same safari with Garry Kelly Safaris. Cost of the AAA safari that Julie is offering is within a few dollars of what Garry's would cost. If the package is actually worth $6,500 I'd say it's not bad.

Like any other safari you'd want to do your do dilligence and talk to references etc. Making the assumption that this is a rip off because of the trophy fees without knowing the whole story on these guys is unwise.

I have just said that, in my opinion, as sestoppelman says trophy fees are outrageous, and I have said that, in my opinion, the price with the five animals you said is a expensive package not a good deal and I have said that the 2.000$ package is not a bad deal.

The thing is, if you look at the overall package with super cheap daily fee and super expensive trophy fees it really does come out to be just a little more expensive than the norm for say a 5-6 animal hunt over 7 days.

That said, the whole "gimicky" thing of giving away the hunt to make it look inexpensive to a bidder at an auction but more than making it up with super expensive trophy fees is just kind of deceptive/slimey to me.

About the only thing I can say good about that approach is the hunter saves on VAT since it is charged on the daily fees but not the trophy fees so that is about $400 in VAT saved.

It isn't the $150,000 for even $20,000 for animals that most people would never consider shooting that bother me as much as say $3200 for a KUDU LOL I mean...$3200 for a Kudu and $850 for an Impala in S.A. is crazy high.

Actually what I 'd rather see is a guy offer a fairly hefty daily rate and moderate trophy fees. You then can pretty much be assured his infrastructure is solid and he'll be able to offer first class services.

In Zimbabwe you can do a PG safari where your apt to run into the Big 5 at any time on any day 7 days 2x1 for an eland, kudu, wildebeest, zebra and impala for about $7,000. This I do call a good deal because not only will the hunting be very good you'll have a "Classic" safari expereince and not just a ranch hunt.

Agreed You also know that the guys with that kind of structure are not pushing you to shoot animals you did not plan on or that are less than what you are looking for because they are only interested in you shooting a bunch of animals.

Take a closer look at the pictures of the offered species. As far as I can see the so called springbuck is a thompson gazelle and the mountain reedbuck is another common reedbuck? And the rates are rediculous.
