I have just finished hunting an almost similar culling package with Johan on the same property and I can highly recommend it to anyone. All arrangements, accomodation and service was very good and there were for me totally incredible amounts of animals on the property which mostly consisted of since long abandoned cattle farms. Springbuck, common and white blesbuck, warthog and black and blue wildebeest were abundant, but we also spotted several kudu, eland, red hartebeest, black and white springbuck, zebra, mountain reedbuck, jackal and caracal. We exclusively hunted adult good looking males and I took two very nice blesbuck, one springbuck, one warthog and one black wildebeest. Each and every one of those skulls are going to the taxidermist for preparation and I will be happy to have them on my wall even though they might not qualify for the first page in the SCI book. The only downside I can think of with this kind of cull hunt is that I a couple of times during the week had to pass on some really good looking wildebeest and springbok bulls that were of trophy class (I could have chosen to pay full price on those bulls though), but this was not something that really disturbed the hunt. I mostly just had to turn the binos to a slightly different angle or walk a little bit more to find another nice bull that was possible to take within the package. If you like me is not interested in breaking the bank to get that extra inch of horn, I would suggest that you seriously consider Johan's offer.

I'm glad you had a good first safari! Even though I have not met Johan, he always is polite and professional. I'm glad you got to see a lot of game! That caracal would have been shot by me! :)

Thanks M and enysse yes we had a very good hunt and good animals did a lot of walking but thats the way we like to hunt, we still need to take between 120 and 250 Black wildebeest then also sprinbuck, blesbuck, warthog, blue wildebeest and more. We only hunt as many animals as you would like to take , i do not sell 10 springbuck at a time but yes you can take ten if you like. We had a crack at them caracal but it was raining and bad thunder in the mountains but it was so good to see them sitting on the rocks 400 yards away.
Thanks M i had a blast looking forward to the next one.
Johan

I met Johan and some of his clients in Houston earlier this year. He seemed like a top notch guy and a straight shooter. His clients had a lot of good things to say about him, even when Johan was not around or hearing the conversation. My friend and I actually plan to hunt with him later this year. This will be our first time hunting Africa and we are looking forward to hunting with him. Also Johan, at this point looks like my wife will be joining us too. I will be contacting you separately about that.

I just got back hunting the same area again and we took very good Cape Kudu, Red hartebeest and many more. We still need to take more than 200 Black wildebeest not to mention the rest. We focus on old animals and bulls with broken or worn down horns. This is not your regular culling hunt we do not take 10 animals per species , but you can hunt one of each animal no need to hunt 30 animals in 7 days. It is more like a very cheap hunt than a culling hunt, we do not drive around at night with a spotlight shooting what we see, no we hunt on foot taking one by one like our regular trophy hunts.

wastednights,

Gratuities means tips, gifts or anyhting else you would like to give away for good service.

For it to be mentioned in the conditions, is this a common practice?

It is not obligatory but it is expected, and being in the conditions, same as charters, rifle hire, taxidermy, shipping...sometimes it seems like obligatory

It is mentioned in just about every set of conditions you will find.

Thanks guys for helping to explain i was away hunting and just got back, this is why i thing A/H has got some of the most helping members. Good job!
Johan

Until this guy posts something on pay it forward free I would avoid him at all costs.

If it hasn't sold by next week I might be interested. Stock would have to be changed along with some other items. I'm already having a 416 Rigby built so money is a tad bit tight.

Hey pal! I'll take all the .375 bullets if they're available.
Thanks!
