Pretty impressive Buffalo.
Hope someone can jump on this.

Dream hunt for sure!

Just curious, how much are the trophy fees?

Dang James (y)

Great offer... that is a outstanding price to hunt Tanzania.

Not a bad time of year also...

This is what I want for Christmas and Birthday for the rest of my life. Don`t even need the cats, "just" buffalo, hippo and PG:)

Enysse I am in your camp. This would be a dream hunt for me.

Ok maybe I didn't understand. Am I to understand $30,000 does not include the trophy fees? So this is $48,000 round figure just to get to and stay/hunt at the camp for 18 days? Trophies are in addition?

Hi James :)

The Trophy Fees are some of the best i have seen for Tanzania (y). And i have been looking.

Many on here should compare the trophy fees with other countries and see how reasonable they are.

Air charter is less expensive that when i went in 2010. So that is a plus.

I do wish someone on AH would take you up on this Safari it is a great experience.

Much too rich for my blood. Thanks for the clarity James. Sounds like the color of money to me! Big money!

You are right - it is terribly expensive. But do the math - what would that many opportunities at dangerous game cost - one at a time - over a number of safaris? A single Marco Polo, Markhor, Mountain Nyala in Ethiopia, or 21 day safari in Tanzania are all hunts in the same class - the most expensive in the world. Against those typical costs, this is indeed a "bargain." Everything is relative - beyond my ability to justify - but still a bargain.

I'm sure your right Red Leg. Maybe it's a retirement dream hunt.

It is what it is....It the Selous!

Looks like some additional posts were removed. I guess if you question a price of one of the sponsors of the site it gets pulled. Interesting, as this seemed to be an open forum.

It is definitely a rich man's hunt/safari but at the same time it is a bargain. For 70K you could get 4 of the big 5 and for 75K 6 of the big 7. For 80K you can get the big 6 and plus a fair amount of plains game. Expensive no doubt but think about how much individual hunts for each of those animals end up costing you? A fair bit more.

Also with the cost of the daily rate vs. the trophy fees you get a lot more bang for your buck going after all or most of the big 6 + plains game rather than just 1 or 2.

But as others have said, it definitely is a dream hunt.

I have always wanted to hunt Tanzania, maybe for the history and the mystique as much as the unique game. This is one of the best prices I have seen. Despite that, one must be prepared financially to hunt there. The regular price of this hunt was roughly 66K. with trophies, D&P, an observer and tips, this could cost 100,000 dollars. The savings on this special should put all of that into the $75K range. Not much more than a 4 door deisel King Ranch Edition Ford pickup, or Cadillac Escalade. So for many hunters, it is truly a matter of priorities. But it does raise the question: Is hunting in Tanzania 10 times better than Namibia or RSA? Would like to hear what some who have done both have to say before I would decide. Appreciate the offer, and I too have been looking at Tanz. and this is a good price.................FWB

too rich for my blood but it would be a dream hunt!
