Good day all

After being home for the weekend and spending some quality time with the family after two weeks hunting and making ready to meet the next client tommorow morning at OR thambo, i realized how much we (outfitters and ph's) give up to do what we love and providing for the family!!

It took only 10 min for my little girl who turned 3 on Saterday too show me this. With out her even knowing!!!

Having a nap in her daddies arms got me thinking of how much our loved ones sacrifices for us to do this job.

So to all doing what we do. Treasure the time you have with your family

When you go out there hunt hard and be the best you can but remember those back home.

Happy hunting to you all and i hope everybody does have a good season

Best Regards

I'm sure she was happy to have her dad back home :)!

Very, very cool....

Thanks for sharing.

great picture. Now how can a ever look at any of you PH's the same way.I had you all as nail eating buff stopping tough guys and some 30lbs little girl has her dad wrapped around her finger.lol You have some great years coming ahead of you that you will enjoy with her and make all the hard work worth it.

I laugh ever time my son ask why I let him do something and I just dont do it for myself instead. Why I am smiling everytime he does something and I am there just watching him.How can i be having fun if I am only there with him and not doing the stuff for myself.I keep telling him one day he will understand when he has a son or daughter. He keeps telling me one day when he has money he will be doing the trips for me.

Now this is a great post! I like it when people see the true value of family. I realize we all have to make sacrifices to provide for our families but there is nothing more valuable than time with your family.
I spent many months in 2012-2013 recovering from cancer surgery and treatments afterwards and having my family there through out the whole ordeal and encouraging me every step of the way went a long way in recovering.
My wife and I leave for SA in 4 weeks for our first safari and we are so excited but I know the minute we step on that plane we will be looking forward to getting back home to our children and grandchildren.
My hats off to you for remembering how important your family is to you and you to them!
Hunt safely my friend

I'd say for most of the hunters family is what it's about. Teaching your children, spending time with them, seeing their eyes light up when they discover something new. That happens a lot in the woods.

gerrit your little angel has proberly wanted that nap ,since you went to work ,mate .
trust me , l know how hard it is on all family members when you work away a lot .
my kids are now all older , my angel turns 18 soon , and still sits with me and chats every night when im home .
you know it will work out good , when you have the love of a good mother/wife /soulmate.to do the mothering and sometimes fathering in your absence .
when you get home the family is complete , until it sad good byes ,again .
the girl looks so content in the photo,
great post .
:clap::clap::clap:

Very nice. Thank you for helping guys like me realize dream vacations.

Great photo. Makes me remember when mine was that age and liked spending time with her dad.

+1 brudda , just got back from 6 weeks in the US and now the season starts full ball till September.
Last year I was hunting from home but leaving early and getting home late. My little 5 year old asked my wife " when's Daddy getting home?"
It sticks like a knife ... Life is short and family important. The balance can't Always be found .

To all the PHs and OUTFITTERS may your family come first this year.
Best hunting regards
Dave

Great thread. I tell my PH that "he's living my dream job" but in reality you guys really sacrifice a lot being away from home months at a time.

I'd still love to have your job though....;)

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
