Hey guys. Got a group of 4 hunters looking for a plainsgame hunt in 2015. We are looking for large concessions (20,000 acres +). Preferably bigger if possible. What we want to try to stay away from is going to 4 or 5 smaller concessions. I'm not knocking the difficulty of the hunt on smaller concessions. It was very challenging and rewarding when I went back in 2011. Just wanting that old Africa feel. Large areas without opening gate after gate. Now comes the tricky part. Can anyone recommend an outfitter that has southern greater kudu, gemsbok, impala, warthog, eland, nyala, Blue wildebeest, black wildebeest and bushbuck on one large concessions. Or at least a couple large concessions within driving distance from one another? Thanks

Edit: added black and blue wildebeest to the list

Hi Colonel ,

I honestly would have to say it is going to be tough to get all of those on one concession . I could probably assist youin two different places . I am not sure jaco might be able to help you in two as well . Doubt if he has all of them on one . Feel free to contact me should you be interested in 2 . Lets see what Jaco says !!

Perhaps, but Kwalata Wilderness spreads over 13 000 hectares (32 120 acres) in the Waterberg mountains in Limpopo. :)

Welcome to AH I am sure you will find this site informative and just fun to be on.

There are many great outfitters on here.

To start of with I truly believe that Kwalata would be a good choice as far as your proposed safari is concerned, and one that would full fill your requirements, and provide you and every member of your group with a consummate hunting experience.

As Richard mentioned from his side.... We would have to hunt two areas, for your safari, the reason for this being that we don not have black wildebeest on our area, we do however have a rather large concession about 30 min away to hunt black wildebeest on. This will be the only specie we would have to travel for...

As far as the old Africa feel goes, Kwalata offers just that, the mountainous expanse which is Kwalata, combined with the fact that it is a true dangerous game area provides even plains game hunters with an old school safari experience in the comfort of South Africa.

Very few things compare to a close quarter encounter with a herd of Elephant while tracking Kudu, Eland, or any of the available plains game species that we have to offer.

I would like to encourage you to contact myself for any additional information, I do have a comprehensive list of references available as well.

My best always.

Well put Jaco ! I just need to find out from who I will get my buffalo ..... LOL

Ha Ha happiness is but a phone call away.... :) LOL!

My very best always..

I'm telling Jaco to buy a Black Wildebeest to put on there take a picture and I'll send you a picture with dates I'm available. :)

Also, consider Hartzview. They should have a set up that fits your bill.

I've hunted Wintershoek JVS Safaris and they have concessions that exceed the size you're looking for, and have all of the animals you listed, with the exception of the bushbuck. Wintershoek is in the Northern Cape, and for bushbuck you are likely looking at Eastern Cape. Having said that, I think very highly of Wintereshoek, and plan to return (this summer).

Colonel62,

Welcome to the forum. I work with some excellent outfitters across southern Africa and I'm sure i have one that fits the bill for you. Drop me an email or a PM and I'll get some information out to you.

All pms replied to. Jaco I will get with you sometime this week. Thanks guys.

Thanks Matt appreciate your time and interest.

My best always.

COLONEL I know I have just what you're looking for. If you're interested give me a PM or email and I will send you all the information you would need.

How does 60 000 acres sound?

Well I got an email from loodt that he just got a 60,000 acre plus area plus what he already had.All the animals are not on that one big area you want but with a little drive you can take them on one of his other places and see more area to.I will be hunting there this aug and can not wait to see it all.Good luck on your search any of the outfitters here who offer you a deal you will be happy with for sure.

Would have thrown my name into the hat, but this is where the Eastern Cape falls out of the bus. There are some Southern Greater Kudu
in some areas here, but not at a competitive rate.
Colonel62, give Jaco of Kwalata a try on this one.

This site is great. The responses have almost been overwhelming. I knew my request would be complicated due to the animals I had listed not being all in the same area. I want to truly thank everyone for taking their time to contact me. I have some great leads so far and will continue to narrow down the list of outfitters. Thanks again guys.

Until this guy posts something on pay it forward free I would avoid him at all costs.

If it hasn't sold by next week I might be interested. Stock would have to be changed along with some other items. I'm already having a 416 Rigby built so money is a tad bit tight.

Hey pal! I'll take all the .375 bullets if they're available.
Thanks!
