It has come to my attention that anti hunters have been infiltrating the site by becoming members, I have been able to block them out in many ways however they are now joining the site and sending private messages (PMs) to members.

They are operating under different usernames, I have already banned three of them, right now they are posing as documentary filmmakers but they may change their tactics... If you receive a PM that seems fishy in any way please report them immediately to me or BRICKBURN so that we can ban them as soon as possible.

Sorry for this inconvenience, they have been relentlessly trying to wage a war of attrition on the site, this is just a new layer to the mix.

Typically, it's easy to pick out the TROLLS, but some have better makeup / camo than others.

A public thread gets scrutiny from all of us.
PM's are just that, Private.

If someone is causing you concern for any reason let the team know.

It's your community!

Thanks for the heads-up Jerome and Wayne. Nothing so far.

I have received an email from the one who pm'd me. He talks a good game about lion hunting and lion conservation. Be aware peeps. The documentary sounds like a real deal. This needs to get out to all members.

maybe me and Doc and couple more of us more genteel and refined members should offer to star in it, that should screw them up for a long time :heh:

Good to know! Will be on the lookout!

Speaking of PM's Jerome. is it ever worth it to send out this type of information to all users to make sure everyone sees it? I know it is a fine line and you wouldn't want to do it to often, but just a thought?

Spike my mug needs to be in there I'll even do my tongue pose!!!!!

My best always.

Hi Jerome & Wayne

AH is not the only site that is being hacked. However it is the one that I read daily. Plus we have A bunch of great members on here.

I think the Anti's are working the pro hunting sites. From what I have noticed they are using the same screen name on different forums.

By passing information on to weed these hackers out will help every one.

Thank again for a great site

I agree with Royal27. Let all members know of the hackers methods and storyline. Then ban them. I have no intention of sending a PM on this site that other members cannot see anyway.

Count me in Mike....I might as well earn the "trouble maker" title.......lol

New members who introduce themselves as students, conservation volunteers, survey takers, and of course, documentarians are all red flags to look for. I see them on other sites all the time...

I'm curious as to what the PMs said??

I could not agree with you more.

This PM was sent to members using different usernames.

Subject:
Documentary film about lion trophy hunting and conservation

PM:
Hello [username],
My name is Nadav Harel and I'm a documentary filmmaker from Israel, working in documentary field for 20 years, having covered different issues from Gaza strip fishing rights to neuroscience. I'm currently producing a documentary on lion trophy hunting and conservation. I came across your posts on this site and I'm writing to interest you on taking part in our film, this is the general concept:

KING OF BEASTS 90 minutes documentary
The documentary follows the trophy hunting of an African lion. The controversial and dramatic killing of a majestic 500 pound wild lion, is perceived by animal rights activists as an obscene crime, but our film unravels a complex reality where hunting plays a crucial role in wildlife conservation. With human population expanding exponentially, African wild animals are being pushed into isolated biological enclaves in which top predators such as lions have become dependent on humans. Through a perspective of a lion trophy hunter, the film explores man's view on nature in the 21st century, re-defining our notions of wilderness in a geopolitical story where China, North America and Africa wage cultural economic conflicts encapsulated through the shooting of a lion, the king of the beasts.

My father was an avid hunter, I've hunted from age 5 in the holy land and am still addicted to free diving spearfishing in Tel Aviv, I know the love of a hunter to nature and the psychology of hunting.
The film is intended for general public and not only for hunters, i believe there's much education to do on that level, the general public has no idea that conservation has anything to do with hunting to begin with. The silence of hunters on the media creates a void where anti-hunting campaigns dominate the public mind. I want this challenging film to create a serious debate around the subject, there's a place for it now. I am in California now doing research for the film, was in SCI convention in vegas where I met great people and learned a lot of things that reassured me regarding the importance of doing this film.

Would you consider taking part in such a documentary? Of course if you find an interest I'll send you more details about myself and the film, I'm sure it's going to be very interesting film here.

All best

Easy enough to steal someone's online presence and post material found on the internet to appear legitimate.

Until this guy posts something on pay it forward free I would avoid him at all costs.

If it hasn't sold by next week I might be interested. Stock would have to be changed along with some other items. I'm already having a 416 Rigby built so money is a tad bit tight.

Hey pal! I'll take all the .375 bullets if they're available.
Thanks!
