I will be hunting in the Eastern Cape of SA this July with an all women's group. We have two companies that will be sponsoring us and one is Burris Optics. Is anyone familiar with them and if so, what are your thoughts. Thank you.

Congrats on your trip, sounds like your going to have a great trip. As far as Burris optics go, there ok, but there is many more companies that far exceed them, but as they are a sponsor not sure you have much choice. Can you tell us more details of your trip or post a trip report when finished.

gday walking prey 2
I have several burris scopes
I have an old laserscope ,the one before the eliminator.
its been around the gunsafe a few times . at the moment its on my youngest sons , 223.
and is working like the day l got it .
l use a 6.5x20 , cant think of which , on my 300 r,u,m. its a ripper and holds zero really good , though the rummer has a muzzle break
and l use signature select binnos ,religiously while stalking , in 8x40, these binnos are fantastic .l can sit and glass for a couple of hours with out any head aches ,
and can see pretty bloody good in low light ,
l also got a 15x60x50?(I think this is the magnafacation ) burris spotting scope for Christmas , which unfortunately is still in its box ,as I havnt done much hunting as it is summer in Australia , now .
im sure you girls will be happy withy the deal

You get what you pay for. The fullfield line is ok. There are better for the same money

Thank you for the replies. I am going with a group of six women who have hunted most of their lives....largely on the Western coast here in the U.S. I am the newbie of the group. We will be hunting in the Eastern Cape for eight days where I hunted the first time. It will be followed by a day of deep sea fishing, then three days working with the children at Addo Faith Mission. The hope is that we will continue to hunt as a group around the world for years to come. Something I have dreamed of doing for the last few years since bitten by the hunting bug. It is an honor that they asked me to join the group. The scope we will be given is in 3x9 power. It has an E1 illuminated reticle with ballistic plex for windage. We will know the exact model in a few days. But I will use the scope on my just purchase CZ .375 H&H. I have a Zeiss Conquest on my Remington 30-06. Which I love. My binos are Leupold BX-3 Mojave (10x42)...which I am happy with. I will happily post any successes when I return. I will be leaving the first week of July. I will be living at the range until then.

Hey bluey! Let's slip on some heels and wigs and see if we can infiltrate the group! Sounds like a fun trip! Maybe Spike can do the same and bring the "pole" from the bar!

Just kidding around WALKINGPREY2......Sound like you ladies are going to have a blast. I wish you all the luck. Please post a report with pictures on your return!

BB if you assist with transport fees for the pole , as it weighs a fair bit ;) but i am sure they will have more fun without you 2 dressed in drag......:fear::bolt:

Your probably right Mike....I'm sure I'd scare myself!!!!

I personally have had great luck with the Burris optics I have purchased. I agree with the statement "you get what you pay for" except for the fact that of all of the scopes i have owned, the only one to really "fail" as in busted crosshair happened to be a Leupold 2x7x32, and they stood behind it completely and fixed it with no cost to me. Burris have a low end line i.e. Fulfield II line, which I feel is still a great scope for the price. Then you have the Fastfire Iii Red Dot Reflex Site... which I would own above any other tactical site I have tried. Their Black Diamond line is again, one of the most durable I have seen, the posi-lock system is something I wish others would duplicate. Also, back to the fullfield II series, I would take one of them over any of the low end big name riflescopes, I currently have one on my Yote rifle and it's ballistic plex is dead nuts for the 223. The Binos are pretty damn good as well.

Guys, something about men in womens cloths, it's bbbaaaadddd. The only way I would do that is to piss off a Muslim,,, HHHHAAAAAA,,,, but I would be well armed when I did it....

I'll leave the pole behind this time. (Hate to have Customs confiscate it on my way home and a girl needs her equipment.;) ) And "fun" will be an understatement. It will be filmed and I will post once we return! I'll also post the model once I receive the info on it and my opinion once I take it out on the range. You all have been informative.....and fun! Good to learn from the experts. Thank you.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
