Your 3 favorite hunting cartridges off all time
The 375 WBy thread got me thinking of my favorite hunting cartridges off all time.
Here are mine:
22 LR
9.3x62 (followed close my a 375 wby--less bark with the 9.3)
450/400 3" (really it was the gun it was in--but was a sweet shooting as they come)

I was about to start a thread similar to this one. It is hard for me to choose between the .222 Remington and the .22-250 for the .22's.
Here are my faves:
.222 Remington
.270 Win
.30-06 Spfld.

I enjoy these:
.280 Rem
.30-06
.338 Win Mag*
*I sold my .338 WM and am having a 338-06 built. I still get the use of .338 bullets but without the belt and the punishment.

I have hunted with a wide variety of calibres and rifles. But when it comes to the big ones their where the occasional shot besides my own 416Rigby and 404Jeffrey. Furthermore most of us I am sure also don’t get to hunt that ofthen with them. So to conclude even if I love my 416Rigby it comes down to two rifles.

in terms of African hunting:
375 H&H
30-06
404 Jeffery
I would take any two of them on a plains game/dangerous game hunt and feel very confident.

I only left .22 Magnum and .220 Swift off the list out of respect for 505ED's limit!! And my .22lr's - can't be without them...

It should be no surprise to anybody that my two all time favourites are the 7x57 and the 404J but I would have to add the 20VarTarg for the small stuff and nobody should be without a 22LR and a 12 guage sxs.

.300 Wby, love it - the ultimate all-round NA and plains game round
.416 Rigby, but I need more real-world experience with it still
Also it's hard to leave out the .257 Wby. Great pronghorn & deer round
