As a double rifle you may not "need" a left handed model. The stock fit being what would probably be the needed work. It must mount to a perfect fit to your eye without having to move it around to find the sights. In my own trials I have found that (Rt handed here) that all the ones I have tried need stock work to fit. Mostly more cast off and drop for me. Your mileage may vary:-) Others here have much more good info than I do

Just got done looking at searcy site and for my budget that's where I'm at somewhere around 12 too 15 is the most my budget wil allow but if I can get what I want for less than that is great leaves more income for going too use it for intended purpose wonder what lead time is on a searvy

The Field Grade lead time is 6 to 8 months. Not sure about his other rifles. Butch does not penalize left handed shooters. Same price as a right hand rifle. He will also build a true left hand rifle, front trigger fires the left hand barrel and the top lever operates opposite of the right hand model.
Another option is Verney-Carron. Contact Ken at Kebco he is a good guy. Kebco LLC
Keep an eye on Champlin's site, Guns international, the forums, etc. for a good deal on a used double. I have two used doubles purchased this way including a Left hand Krieghoff for under $9,000 in very good shape.

Searcy makes a great DR! Mine is a 450 NE and shoots very well. He also has a no BS guarantee that he backs up with no questions.
Try that with anyone else. Even if you're not the first owner he stands behind his rifles.
What are you going to hunt?
There's a new good looking Chapuis 9.3X74R listed on Gunbroker now. I have one also and it's sweet, petite and accurate!

If you reload consider a 450 NE. They're a twin to the 470 and more handloading selection by far.

With all due respect to shangwaris suggestion, REB I would be very careful about buying a Sabatti double rifle! There have been way too many problems with these rifles not being properly regulated! You might be lucky, and get one of the few that would shoot properly, but at even $9000 usd for a 470NE is not a bargain if it is not regulated well. I would stick with even a used Merkel, Chapuis, or Krieghoff that can be bought for the same $9K and all those brands are always regulated well. If the price is in your budget then the B. Searcy PH is a bargain, and I will guarantee a Searcy will be regulated as well as a double rifle can be regulated!
Buyer beware!DUGABOY1 www.doublerifleshooterssociety.com

The Sabatti's are only $5500 USD with ejectors. I don't know where the 9K is from.
The only saving grace to the Sabatti story in the states is the quality of Cabellas, the retailer. They'll refund your cash if it won't shoot good enough.

Guys, no offense on the sabbatti deal.a friend off mine just bought a 470 NE here in RSA and paid around R70000 for it.thats all i know about the sabbatti and if you roughly convert to USD it comes to around $9000. as you know RSA is not the cheapest when importing firearms.myself am shooting the old english vintage doubles from 90 years back.
happy shooting

Sabbati had cut corners when they first hit the USA market and did some sloppy down and dirty regulating tricks that bit them on the backside. Cabellas made it right but the slip-shod rifles are still out there somehwere.
Look at the newer ones with an X in front of the serial number for a properly regulated one here stateside.
