Triggers and JJ Perodeau
My double I am fixin' to take to Namibia had some very stout triggers. I called Mr. Perodeau yesterday and he told me to bring it up and he would fix it. It's about 200 miles from me so I started early and got there at eight thirty. Within 5 minutes he had it apart and was filin' on the triggers. After about an hour or so it was perfect. While he was working I got to go through the gun vault. Enjoyed very much his knowledge of his craft. When I got home I shot eight rounds into a little group exactly at point of aim at 50 yards. What a treat. Go back up when I can.He IS a Master gunsmith.

JJ is one of the best sxs experts in this country. He is part of Champlin Arms in Enid, OK Champlin Firearms - Quality Firearms - JJ Perodeau Gunmaker . I am a huge fan of German combination guns and many made it home to this country in GI duffel bags with claw bases but no rings or scope. (Germans typically stored their scopes seperately, and when the gun was "liberated" from Nazi tyranny the scope was typically missed). JJ is an expert at creating rings to fit an existing set of claw bases. Obviously, he can also do full set of claws and rings. He is one of the very, very few people (the only one I know) on this side of the water whom I would allow to re-regulate a double rifle to a new load.

They were 7 1/2 a little tough now they are 4 1/2 and break like glass. Don't want them too light on a double or you might get a "DOUBLE" . Had a coupla' those and it will get your attention. Not to mention possibly hurt the gun.

You sure were getting the whole experience. Go Away birds, blown stalks, flighty critters, beer and coffee. Not a canned hunt by any stretch. Damn I hope he got some pictures of that...
