    Hi

    I would like to know how much bow poundage I must pull to shoot big plains game animals.

    Dox,

    What is your draw length?

    You should be able to pull 30 to 40# and shoot accurately to 25 yards before even thinking of hunting with your bow.

    I shoot 65# and have a 24.5 inch draw length.

    65# with minimum of 420gr arrows and you have more than enough to take down any of the African plains game....

    I think that will be more than enough. The more important thing is to practice to make quick and accurate shots. Also having sharp broadheads!

    Add a cut on impact broad head to your setup and you should have no problem with anything from a Kudu down. They will greatly improve your penetration.

    Hi

    I use a G5 Striker broadhead, arrow weight 505g, speed 220fps,able to shoot 30yds 3 inch grouping. Is that fine?
