Muzzy and Rage to combine
Rumor has it that muzzy is being bought by the conglomerate that owns rage. I for one am not a fan of rage at all so I hope they don't mess with my tried and true muzzy 125s. Time will tell I suppose.

My thoughts exactly. I've used Muzzy for years because they work really, really well. I really hope they don't mess with them.

I doubt that they would mess with the designs of the original Muzzy brand. that would be a BAD MOVE on their part...!
My fear now is that the prices will jump to pay for the ridiculous marketing campaign that they run for the Rage brand...

It's the sign the time. It seems like no small company can survive and prosper. Things change. And sometimes the owners just want to take the money and start a new investment.

I know first hand they are not changing anything, Muzzy is one of the longest lasting brands and rage is the most popular selling broadhead for the last three years. This kind of merger happens all the time. It would make no sense for them to stop or change muzzy, now they just own the biggest chunk of the broadhead market.
"PROCTOR, Minn. (June 18, 2012) Muzzy Outdoors, LLC, announced today that it has acquired Muzzy Products Corp. from the Musacchia family. The terms of the sale were not disclosed.
The parent company of Muzzy Outdoors is Feradyne Outdoors, LLC. Feradyne's President and CEO Rich Krause commented, We are delighted to add Muzzy to our portfolio of businesses. For over 30 years, Muzzy has offered the leading brand of fixed-head broadheads for bowhunters as well as a range of other innovative products serving the archery, bowhunting and bowfishing markets. In combination with the other businesses in our portfolio, we can now offer hunters the best mechanical broadheads, the best fixed broadheads, the most technologically advanced lighted nocks and the best bowfishing products in the industry. We plan to continue investing in and building our portfolio of top quality, trusted outdoor brands through new product development and acquisition. We are 100% focused on delighting our consumers with the best products in the business.
Michele Musacchia Eichler, CEO of Muzzy Products, commented, My family is pleased to pass the reins to Feradyne's President and CEO Rich Krause. Rich is a bowhunter and recognizes and will continue Muzzy's dedication to producing the number 1 fixed blade broadheads and bowfishing equipment in the industry.
Feradyne Outdoors, LLC designs, manufactures and sells a range of innovative outdoors product brands, including other leading brands in the bowhunting industry. Feradyne also owns Rage Outdoors who sells the revolutionary line-up of rear-deploying Rage? Broadheads, the new RageCage Quiver, and the market leading Nockturnal brand of lighted nocks."

I just wish Rage would make sharper and stronger blades.
I got some extreme replacement blades in the mail yesterday and they are just a big joke....
The blades have small burs and the blades are also far from what I will call sharp.
And these are factory new
I might be spoiled with the replacement blades from Slick Trick as they are extremely sharp, but I really think it is stupid that I need to sharpen factory new blades before I can use them for hunting.
If people just use them(Rage) as they are without sharpening them, I am not surprised they can experience poor penetration if this is common for factory new Rage blades....
I am still going to buy one pack of the new Rage Hypodermic when it comes to test it, but if the blades are of the same quality as the extreme replacement blades I got, then I will use my money somewhere else.
