Almost there!
Well, in about 48 hrs we will be on a plane heading to JNB for our huntin in the Limpopo. Not being able to sleep, the sheep I'm counting have morphed into tall horned bushbuck sifting in and out through the riparian thickets. Will fill in on our group's adventures soon.

Well, I'm back from our hunt and it was very cool. I hunted hard for Bushbuck and had a number of opportunities but just could not close the deal on a good ram. Evan Sloan at Choronga worked very hard to give me every chance, but in the end I was humbled by Mr. Bushbuck. Working the thicket alond the Limpopo River was a blast, as there seemed to be bushbuck everywhere. On the pushed drives we did, sometimes they would come through and Mach II (i.e red flashes), providing no real shot opportunities. I had numberous branch/vine deflections, and some very near misses at 30, 40 and 48yds. In addition, we were passing on anything that was 13" or under. Truely a fantastic time. I will have to do this again! I took a few days also to hunt Evan's blinds for Impala, Duiker, Steenbuck and Springbok. Took some nice trophies as did the other members of our group. Will post some pics.

Glad you had a good time Rich! Bushbuck have humbled many a rifle hunter, I can't imagine going after them on foot with a bow.

Phil, Thanks, I reside just North of Tucson. If I was using a rifle I probably could have had a nice 17" ram after 30 minutes of hunting. It just gives me something to strive for on a future trip and it will be that much sweeter.
