Tom,
Yes,
The dates and times are correct.

...Some very nice animals! Good variety- It would be very interesting sitting in that blind with a Leopard coming in for a drink! An adrenaline rush or possibly scare the daylights out of you!
-
Great pictures Gerhard! Do you guys get hunting permits for Leopard and do you hunt them with a bow? I assume the pictures were taken in South Africa, where is your bowhunting only concession?

Yes,
We still can get a special permit for hunting leopard with the bow. This is different from your CITES permit. But I am speaking under correction.
I have had hunters (local) sitting in the hide at 11:00 in the morning when a big tom came to have a drink. The guy could not stop telling the story... :D
Our bow hunting concessions total close to 18 000 acres in the north west of the Limpopo province. Thabazimbi is the nearest town to our concessions.
And like you said it is bow hunting only. No rifle hunting is allowed.
We do have a totally different concession area in Mpumalanga and eastern part of the Limpopo provinces for our rifle hunters.
I hope this answer your questions.

Awsoeme Gerhard,
The wild dog was a complete surprize. When i was there my PH was getting trail cam pics of a brown Hyena (all at night) and one of the other guides had seen a cheetah a few days before we got there.
You never know what the thornveld might produce.

Here is another couple of photos of kudu on our concessions.

Hey Gerhard,
How frequent are the brown hyena, and are there opportunities for rifle hunters?
I spent 10 days and nights sitting over baits and calling with #1 priority being the brown hyena. No luck. We hunted along the Matlabas River and adjacent bush - sounds like this is roughly where you're at?
I would be very interested in any opportunities to rifle hunt brown hyena...
Top photos - I haven't seen such a variety of predators from the area and in such a short space of time!

schembridan,
I have called in brown hyena on a few occasions while calling for jackal.
These photos where taken as the crow fly about 100km from the Matlabas river.
One would have to get special permit for brown hyena as they are a protected species.
Hope this helps,
-
Permits, or more accurately, bow hunting permits for specially protected game in South africa are very hard to come by and should you be lucky to get one it usually goes with a certain time constraint. Nice pics.
-
Great pics Gerhard.
Billy hold on to that Bowtech Tribute they are great bows.
