Africa in April

Hi All,
I just booked a bow hunt in RSA from June 8-14. Those dates were chosen because
"it is a good time for bow hunting. " I do understand that dry conditions increases waterhole
activity. That is not my question. I am hoping to sneak off in April (my 50th birthday on
the 13th) to hunt . My question is if there is good bow hunting that time of year? The next
question is how difficult would it be to get a good deal at that time of year? Gonna be quite
a sales job So for April price matters.

Congrats on your booking. Who will you be hunting with?

I bowhunted April last year and didnt find it particularly bad time of year. It all depends on how much rain your area gets before you arrive. I still do think August through October is best though.

I am going with Motsomi Safari's. I hunted with them last year and it was wonderful. I would go there in April as well but I kinda wanted to see something different. I do understand later is better but April is my b-day and I am going somewhere. Maybe not africa.

Went in April in 2012 and you will have warm weather.

Do a 2 week weather print out for your area as a tool to use. it is close and helps your guidance.

Have fun and provide a report when you return.
