About Me
Steve Kobrine, South Africa
Bowhunter, Hunting Outfitter, Professional Hunter, Hunting Consultant, Writer

I first hunted in South Africa in 1988 and have been hunting every year since. From 1995 I have lived full time in various African countries and in 2000 have been residing on my own South African game ranch. I only hunt with a bow and arrow and to date have taken 120 species in Africa, several of which were the first taken by a modern archer. I have shot the big 6 twice and was the first person to shoot all 29 animals of the "African 29". By taking a Mountain Nyala in 2008 I became the first person to shoot all 9 of the major spiral horned antelope with a bow and arrow. I was the first and still the only person to have taken all nine of the major spiral horns with a bow.
I specialize in the rarest and most difficult species in Africa and was the first modern archer to take Vaal Rhebok, Lord Derby Eland, Lesser Kudu, Gerenuk, Zambezi Sitatunga, Barbary Wild Boar, Dwarf Forest Buffalo, Maxwell's Duiker, Royal Antelope, Bates Pigmy Antelope, Forest Elephant, Nile Bushbuck, Uganda Kob, and more.
I am also a hunting outfitter and professional hunter, being both a PH and client, it gives me a unique perspective in what the client's needs are and what he expects on safari in Africa. I endeavor to organise the best safari in the best areas, keeping prices in mind.
My desire to collect all of Africa's rarest game species has led me to find and open new opportunities for Africa's rarest species. My quest has led me to virtually all the game fields of Africa, and my intimate knowledge of the different hunting areas, countries and outfitters are unrivaled in the hunting fraternity.
