taking home zebra rug
question- if i bought a finished zebra rug in namibia, could i take it home in my suitcase? i see they are sold all over the country and in the jo-berg airport.

You can bring back with you to the US a tanned skin from either a Burchell's (plain) or Hartmann's (mountain) Zebra. Both skins will have to be declared upon entry into the country and you will need to have a CITES permit in order to clear custom with the Hartmann's Zebra.

You'll also need a veterinary clearance certificate but a reputable seller should be able to supply that as a matter of course.
