Inaugural AH Texas Member Get Together

Thanks to Jerome for the idea of this seperate Forum Section!

I'll be the "guinea pig" and test the waters:

Dependent on the responses, I'm proposing a AH Texas Member BBQ at my home in Hempstead, TX (50 miles west of Houston, TX) one weekend in early June. I'll set it up for a Saturday (to be determined). There is a very nice and reasonable B&B close to my house for those driving from out of town. I'm out in the country with plenty of room. Plan of some good Texas BBQ, plenty of stories around a fire pit and maybe some horse shoe pitching. It's not Africa but the sundowners at dusk and a few tall tail stories will get us closer! If anyone is interested, please post a reply. Directions will be sent PM.....

Would love to come but as I have a son in Houston but I'll be in Pennsylvania about then working my way to Houston in early August

Early June is out for me Wes as I will be in South Africa until 13 June if you decide to have it later let Deb and I know heck I'd drive to texas just to drink a beer with you and Sandy. Bob

We'd love for you and Deb to come down. The dates are pretty open right now. Just trying to have it before it gets to hot down here. How about later that same month?

Hey Roger...Glad to be able to provide an excuse to "come hunt something!". Ya know, Axis deer are rutting about then, and there are a lot of outfits in the hill country that have them....hummmm.

I was thinking of maybe moving it to July 6th. It may be better for everyone to do it on 4th of July weekend (assuming everyone might be off that Thursday/Friday for the holiday). What does everyone think?

Wes that sounds like a plan in fact I am off for that weekend.

Ok guys.....So everyone can make plans, this will be set for July 5th & 6th. We can get together Friday night (July 5th) for a few drinks and maybe some local Mexican food. Saturday, we'll just make it an all day event with BBQ, horseshoes, socializing, etc. Hopefully, we can get members to come. If you can make it, please PM me for directions and contact info. Looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing some old friends!
